GERD NOLTE
IN MEMORIAM
AUGUST 1, 2006
Gerd Nolte died on February 8, 2006 in
Frankfurt, Germany, in the same hospital
he was born. He was around 72 years old
and suffered from pancreatic cancer and
diabetes.
I called his house over 100 times during
the past 7 months but never received an
answer until his sister-in-law from Canada
answered yesterday to say that he had died
and she was straightening out his affairs
and small estate.
Gerd worked with me at ONA Flight Dispatch
from approximately 1969 until 1974 when he
returned to Germany to dispatch for
Lufthansa. He worked there until around
the year 2000 when he retired.
Should anyone want to send a note of
condolence I have his brother and
sister-in-law´s address and phone number
in Toronto, Canada.
Kind Regards, Sam Rogers, Dallas

A Dream Within a Dream
by Edgar Allan Poe
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow:
You are not wrong who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
