HEY LOOK US OVER!
Leil Lowndes and Ellen had composed a
graduation song for their ONA class of
May 15, 1968.
The whole class sang it during the class
ceremonies. It goes to the tune of
Broadway play musical, "Hey Look Me Over".

Hey look us over ...
We're gonna fly!
Straight out of training ...
headed for the sky!
Old stews look-out now ...
we're coming through!
What ONA has done for us ...
they could not do for you!
So... captains prepare boys,
we want to see ...
How big the world is ...
big enough for me ...?
Fasten your seat belts ...
we want to go ...
"UP..UP AND AWAAAAAAY...
(This part changes to the TWA
commercial tune of that time)
With ONA!!!

and fellow stew.
I have always lived in Astoria Heights,
being able to commute either to the city
or the airports. I have moved into a newly
built home thinking it would be better to
have it built and not have to do too much!
Ha, wrong, wrong, wrong! Always something
to do, change or add! Never ends!

After leaving ONA, I worked for New York
Airways Inc. as a flight-attendant.
(During this time my name was Pafitis.)
At the time the fleet included two Boeing
Vertol 107-11, then upgrading to
Sikorsky S-61L, plus two De Havilland
Canada DHC-6 twin otters. It was fun,
great group of co-workers, but I sure
missed flying the big birds!

In 1993, I was hired with Tower airlines as
a flight-attendant. I lasted close to a year.
It was great traveling, adored the cock-pit
crew, but just a handful of flight-attendants.

Tower Air Boeing 747
ONA was the best experience yet. We did have the best crews and flight-attendants. Every flight was exciting; meeting new crews and new places kept us all in sinc! I tried again in 1996, being hired with United Airlines as a flight-attendant ...the oldest one in the class at almost 50! Finally my age was a +...got first dibs on relocation! Well, to make a long story short, in the middle of training (which was the United training center in sub-zero Chicago, the coldest place on earth), I had a severe attack of food poisoning, ending up in hospital!
Hilton Chicago O´Hare AP Hotel
The training was intense, and I was too weak to continue, so I high-tailed home as soon as my legs got me out of bed! The staff at United were very nice and told me to take my time getting better as they will put me in the next class. At this point in my life, I knew I needed to slow down, so I had to bow out..... In between airlines, I either managed or was head receptionist in Manhattans' beauty salons. Gerard Bollei Salon, New York As I use to say in interviews, it's either 'AIR or HAIR'! With Love, Ellen-Orros De Crescenzo
