BILL PARKS
Bill & pals during Jeddah duty
Most of us who flew with Captain Milt Marshall and Bob Travelute to Germany would know the lady in the Bratwurst stand where we always ended up, sometimes for hours and sometimes for more. I believe she was Russian and she would kick the locals off the chairs for all us crew men and women. The other pictures would be well known by anyone flying through Wake Island. I have a couple of the old DC 7´s that I will send over.Bill P

But ONA is so far back now I'd have to find my old log books up in the loft to remember my many days with all those past memories. I recall doing all that DC-7 PT at Lake City Florida, but was furlowed so many times I get mixed up with the dates! Sometimes I tell my experiences while flying with Airborne Express and with pilots no older than my grandsons and I think many times they hardly believed me. I gave up running the old Liberty Ship steam engine but hope to visit my old Aircraft Carrier Midway this winter out in CA. I still walk some 2 1/2 miles per day and work out in the gym in the afternoons. I have many grand kids and even 5 or 6 great grandkids so I keep busy. Hail for George in Tokyo! Leo, Bill & Paul in Tokyo! ![]() February 22, 1732 February 22, 1969 ![]() STARK & PARKS IN TOKYO A chopping experience ... Aircraft carrier USS Midway ![]() “Midway Magic” is a historical fact. It was a term known throughout the Navy as the USS Midway steamed through a 47-year career of service to the country. Imagine, a carrier that was commissioned in 1945 and served as a flagship in Desert Storm in 1991. No other carrier served as long as the USS Midway. |
